Siemens has expanded its servo drive portfolio to include a new product in the safety extra-low voltage range – the SIMATIC MICRO-DRIVE.
The innovative MICRO-DRIVE is an extremely versatile, seamless and safety integrated servo drive system that covers a wide range of applications in the protective extra-low voltage series.
HMK is an approved partner for tech-giant Siemens, supplying their market-leading products to our UK customer base.
Gary Kitchin, managing director at HMK Automation, said: “The highly-anticipated MICRO-DRIVE from Siemens is perfectly suited for those looking for safe and versatile automation solutions.
“We anticipate the new MICRO-DRIVE will be a popular product for those precise positioning tasks in a variety of manufacturing and production environments, as it’s an ideal drive system over a wide range of applications where low voltage safety is essential, such as AGV (automated guided vehicle) systems and medical applications.
“The compatible components for the MICRO-DRIVE are only available from Siemens partner manufacturers, but here at HMK, we’re a one-stop-shop for the new MICRO-DRIVE, able to provide the drive, motor and connecting cables to our customers from just one source – saving them the hassle of sourcing components from three different manufacturers with the added benefit of complete solution support from HMK.
“And of course, with HMK, customers also benefit from the expertise of our engineering team. Whatever your automation requirements, we can help our customers to select the optimum combination of suitable products to address their specific application needs, and ultimately deliver success.”
Features of the new MICRO-DRIVE include:
Flexible system components that can be combined – and all available from HMK
For motor power ratings from 100 up to 1000 Watts
Motor supply voltage in the protective extra-low voltage range from 24 to 48 V DC
Operates perfectly with SIMATIC controllers
Programmed from the TIA Portal environment
Compatible with MindSphere, the cloud-based open IoT operating system from Siemens
Higher-level, standard safety concepts can be drawn up with maximum safety for personnel as well as for machines
Siemens are hosting a virtual launch event for the new MICRO-DRIVE on Wednesday, June 10, when the technical experts from the Siemens team will be hosting a free webinar about how the MICRO-DRIVE can add value in the safety extra low-voltage market.
